Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Sunday hit out at the Prime Minister alleging that he had forgotten to inform the people about his promise to “dismember Jammu and Kashmir” for votes in Ladakh which was assured the status of Union Territory by the BJP during the recent polls here.
“How disingenuous of the Hon PM to forget to tell the people of Bihar that his party promised to dismember J&K for votes in Ladakh,” Omar wrote on micro-blogging site, Twitter.
Omar was referring to the recent Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) elections in which BJP got a thumping majority of 18 in the 26-member council.
Opposition parties, Congress and National Conference, have accused the BJP of making the grant of Union Territory status to Ladakh as its main poll plank.
Omar also criticised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visits abroad as part of his efforts to bring in foreign investment in view of media reports that electric carmaker Tesla was in talks to produce cars in China, instead of India.
“Shhhh, we aren’t supposed to talk about the lack of concrete outcomes from the much hyped trips abroad,” the former chief minister said.
