“If the government is claiming that they are peace-lovers, then who killed 21 youth so far and left hundreds of civilians injured, in the past two days.
The Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani on Sunday blamed the state government for what he said spoiling peace in Kashmir.
“The state Government has been spoiling peace in the state. People at helm of affairs of Government have made baseless allegation that protesters are forcing forces to resort to firing. The fact is they (forces) are firing upon protesters,” Geelani said.
“If the government is claiming that they are peace-lovers, then who killed 21 youth so far and left hundreds of civilians injured, in the past two days.
The way they killed our youth and injured several others is worst kind of state terrorism,” he said.
“Police and other forces are looking for an excuse to kill youth. I appeal youth not to attack police stations as forces get an excuse to open fire on them,” he said. “People from past two days have maintained discipline in Kashmir and they should continue to maintain it. The way people showed their resentment against India from Friday evening is an eye-opener for India and world community as well that the people of Kashmir are against the forcible control of India in Kashmir,” Geelani said.
The Hurriyat (G) Chairman also appealed people to ensure protection of minorities. “We have received some reports of harassment of minorities at Srigufwara in Islamabad (Anantnag) district. It is our religious and moral duty to ensure protection of minorities. I urge youth to ensure that no member of minority community is harmed in any way,” Geelani said.
