Syed Ali Geelani rules out talks with GoI

‘We’ll never talk with those pursuing fanatical ideology’

Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Wednesday ruled out talks with Government of India (GoI) saying there will be no talks with Delhi till it accepts Jammu and Kashmir as a disputed territory and they will never talk to those pursuing fanatical ideology.
“There can be no talks with GoI unless it accepted J&K as a disputed territory. We’ll never beg for talks,” Geelani said in a statement issued here today.
He said authorities in New Delhi are “irrational, following fanatical dogma, lack political understanding” and are not in position to resolve the issue.
While reacting to statement of Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu in which he had ruled out talks with separatist leaders and said Kashmir problem was restricted to five districts only, Geelani said the Kashmir issue has remained unresolved since past seven decades and Kashmir was a human issue and people were pursuing their right to self-determination.
He alleged that New Delhi and the State administration have waged a war against people of state.
“They are looking the issue through the prism of their fanatical ideology and as a conflict between Hindu and Muslim communities”.
Geelani said fanatical authorities derive joy while butchering Muslim communities and under well thought out plan and under the garb of law and order situations feel free to carry genocide in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We will never talk with those pursuing their fanatical ideology and we will never surrender,” he said adding, “We never begged or asked for holding talks”.
Geelani said sole of aim of BJP-led dispensation in New Delhi is to turn India into “Hindu Rashtra” and carried “state sponsored and planned massacres” in Assam, Gujarat and Muzaffarnagar.
“How it is possible to talk with assassins of Muslim communities,” he said.
The Hurriyat (G) chairman said Kashmiris are passing through a crucial period and their lives, dignity, properties, faith, uniqueness and everything is at stake.
“It is a do or die position for Kashmiris,” he said adding the forces won’t allow people to live free unless they follow their faith and change their outlook as per their dictates.
Commenting over the role played by mainstream in state including National Conference and PDP, Hurriyat (G) chairman said, “It is trial for these parties as either they have to submit their wish and will or prostrate before Almighty and repent for their wrong doings and join people in their fight against dogmatic ideology of Jan Sangh”.
He said there is no justification for mainstream parties to remain in power as their lust and greed for power has brought great shame for them.
