In Kashmir, autumn announces its arrival when chinar leaves start turning crimson red. That change also signals the arrival of the autumn cold and that is the time to change the attire.
As the autumn is in its full swing in the region, the woollen and warm clothing are also out to ward of the cold, which gets intense in the mornings and the evenings. In fact, during the night, Kashmir is witnessing sub-zero temperatures.
“On November 3, the maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 14°C and -3°C, respectively,” the daily weather bulletin issued by the Metrological Department said today. As compared to Srinagar, the weather in the Jammu city is, however, warmer.
In the forecast, the Met Department has predicted “mainly clear skies” for Srinagar city on November 3. However, there is also a prediction that the western disturbances may affect the region in the coming days.
The change in the weather has forced people to change their clothing and switch over to woollens. Besides, scores of people in the shutdown-hit Srinagar are seen shopping and scouring mainly for woollens and the warm clothes during “relaxation in shutdown” hours.
