Observe strike today - Separatists to peopleSeparatist leaders Monday reiterated their call for complete shutdown on Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir and appealed people to observe 27th October as a ‘black day’ against the ‘forcible accession of J&K with India in 1947.’
Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani said on October 27, 68 years ago India ‘forcibly’ took control of J&K without any constitutional and moral reason.
Hurriyat (M) chairman who termed October 27 as a “Black Day” in Kashmir’s history, has already called for a complete strike on Tuesday and said Hurriyat (M) PaK Chapter on October 27 would march towards the United Nations Military Observers Group in PaK to highlight and stage a protest to highlight the human rights violations in Jammu Kashmir.
The protest is meant to attract the attention of the international community and call for demilitarization of the region, he said. He demanded resolution of Kashmir issue according to wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people.
Salvation Movement spokesperson said chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat, who is under house detention from last over two weeks has appealed Kashmiris to observe complete shutdown on Tuesday (27th October).
Senior Hurriyat Leader and Vice President Peoples League Mohammad Yaseen Attai while extending support to the Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelan’s strike call on 27th October 2015, appealed people to observe complete shutdown on this day to justify to the world bodies that Indian “forcibly” took control of Jammu and Kashmir on the same day.
Geelani also appealed Secretary General United Nations Organizations (UNO), Ban-ki- Moon to select a special representative to Kashmir and start the process of resolving ‘long pending Kashmir dispute’.
Geelani said he has written a letter to SG UNO to declare a special representative for Kashmir on the occasion of Million March to be held in America to resolve the Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of the people.
“Time has come for the UN to use its offices to press for the resolution of this long pending Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of the people. This issue is the oldest one and people of this land have suffered utmost due to the dispute since 1947,” he said.
Geelani also asked people to hoist the black flags at different places to commemorate 27th October as a day of ‘mourning and a black day.’
Meanwhile Geelani condemned the arrest spree of police launched in different areas of Anantnag district. He also condemned the house arrest of various separatist leaders across Kashmir.
