Minister for Health and Medical Education Lal Singh today reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the state with advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities.

Govt committed to improving healthcare, says Lal SinghAddressing a gathering after inaugurating a free surgical camp held at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Basohli, he said such camps prove to be of immense help for people of far-off and remote areas, who otherwise suffer a lot due to lack of the vital services.

The camp was organised by the department in collaboration with the Onkar Singh Memorial Trust, New Delhi, during which a team of senior doctors conducted major surgeries.

Earlier, the minister inspected the CHC, Basohli, and enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients. He visited OPD, general wards and other units to take stock of the services available there.

Meanwhile, the minister convened a public grievance redressal camp on the premises of the CHC, Basohli, in which people of the town and adjoining panchayats apprised him of their problems, which were mainly related to road connectivity, electricity, ration and drinking water.

He said the government had devised an innovative plan envisaging expansion of best healthcare facilities and other basic amenities with emphasis on accelerating developmental pace in rural and hilly areas. He said a proposal for the construction of the Dhar Mahanpur and Dhar Dugnu roads was sent to the Centre.

He said a critical care ambulance equipped with 34 medical facilities, including a ventilator, was handed over to the CHC, Basohli.

Lal Singh said the CHC, Basohli, would be developed as a model hospital with all modern healthcare facilities, besides provision of 24-hour OPD during which four gynaecologists, four surgeons and three physicians would be available in the hospital.
