Jammu and Kashmir government today said it has decided to set up the proposed All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Awantipora in Pulwama district of South Kashmir. An Army colonel was killed on Tuesday in an encounter with militants near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of Kashmir, officials said.
