Seven persons have been arrested and five of them booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) for allegedly attacking a truck in Udhampur recently whose conductor died of injuries today, Director Jammu and Kashmir DGP K Rajendra Kumar said on Sunday. “Seven persons were arrested for criminal assault on the truck,” the Director General of Police (DGP) said, adding that searches were on to nab another person involved in it. After busting an interstate gang of thieves in September, which had duped Kathua resident Vijay Gupta of Rs 35.6 lakh, the crime branch of the police recovered the whole amount on Friday and handed it over to Gupta.
