Crime Branch Jammu has booked one person, pretending to be PA to the former Chief Minister, for allegedly duping several people, promising them government jobs against huge amounts of money.
“ Crime Branch has registered an FIR No. 06/ 2016 against Muhammad Amin Khan who had duped people by impersonating himself as PA to the then Chief Minister,” police sources said.
“ Mohan Lal son of Kaka Ram of Samba had lodged a written complaint with the Crime Branch, mentioning that Khan of Bagh- e- Mehtab projected himself as PA to the Chief Minister and can arrange Class IV jobs for his ( Mohan Lal’s) sons. Lal said that he paid Khan Rs 25 lakh but no appointment order was issued,” the sources said.
“ On making protests, the accused asked him ( LAL) to arrange some more candidates for backdoor appointments which were arranged and Rs 85 lakh were provided to the accused through bank transactions in A/ c No. 49630 J& K Bank Residency Road Srinagar and A/ c No. 6498 and 211071, 206030 J& K Bank HS High Street Srinagar and through cash,” reads the FIR. “ Crime Branch conducted preliminary verification and it was found that accused, Muhammad Amin Khan, was actually an employee of Education department posted in civil secretariat and not the PA to the Chief Minister,” it adds.
It further reads, “ Account No. SB- 49630, provided by the accused to the complainant, existed in the name of daughter of Khan and Rs 29,83,730 was found deposited in it. The Account No. SB- 21172 was in the name of one, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan of Sarai Bala Srinagar and Rs 3,86,963 were found deposited through credit from different branches of Jammu province in it which clearly indicated that the accused in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy with his daughter and Mushtaq, cheated the people.” “ The omissions and commissions on the part of Muhammad Amin Khan, his daughter and Mushtaq prima facie, constitute offences punishable under section 420, 406, 120- B RPC read with Section 5( 2) PC Act, 2006,” spokesman of the Crime Branch said. Accordingly, a formal case has been registered in Police Station ( Crime Branch) Jammu and further investigation taken up, spokesman added.
