Clashes erupted in Hajin township of Bandipora district after Friday prayers while peaceful protest rallies were organised in Ajas and Saderkoot area of the north Kashmir district. Youth resorted to stone pelting after police and CRPF contingents tried to disperse the protesting people. As protesters marched towards Sumbal and approached police station government forces intercepted them that led to the clashes, local sources told Kashmir Post.
Four youth have sustained injuries in the ongoing protests in Hajin. Meanwhile post Friday protest rallies were peacefully organised in Ajas and Saderkooot area of Bandipora while brief clashes were reported from Ajar area.
Meanwhile, A 12 year old youth, Junaid was critically injured after government forces fired pellets to disperse protesters in Saidepora, Eidgah area of Srinagar on Friday.
Juniad was immediately rushed to SKIMS. Sources in SKIMS told Kashmir Post that pellets have hit Junaid in head and cardiac area and he was being operated upon.
Earlier, clashes erupted in Saidepora between government forces and protesters.
