A massive pro-freedom rally was held in Khrew area of Pampore in Pulwama district on Friday.
Reports said that clerics of different sects and pro-freedom leaders addressed the rally.
A similar rally was held by Dukhtaran-e-Millat activists and supporters in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district.
Around 20 persons were injured after government forces used teargas shelling and pellets to disperse protesters in Chanakhan area of Sopore on Friday, reports said.
Earlier, clashes broke out after forces tried to break up a demonstration after Friday prayers.
Sopore erupted on Friday as clashes between government forces and protesters erupted soon after Friday congregational prayers. Sources said that soon after the Friday prayers a massive pro-freedom rally marched from jamia masjid towards the highway.
As soon as the rally reached Krankshivan bridge armed forces on duty in hundreds resorted to massive tear smoke shelling and pellet firing on protesters. Many are said to be injured.
Clashes between government forces and protesters erupted in Bijbehara and Khudwani in Anantnag and Kulgam districts respectively on Friday. Four persons were injured at Khudwaini, sources said.
Clashes were also going on in Bijbehara. Meanwhile, pro-freedom rallies were held at Fatepore and Kaba Marg in Anantnag district.
