Red Alert: Alert sounded across Kashmir Valley over reports of an imminent attack on security forces

A red alert has been sounded in Srinagar city and its outskirts over reports of an imminent attack on security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, said sources on Monday.
Sources say there are intel inputs that terrorists are planning to target vehicles of security forces using sticky bombs.
“There is an imminent threat of remotely detonated IED attack in Srinagar today onwards. Places that can be targeted include Batmaloo etc,” said intel.
Following the intel input, that has been given A+ grading, the local administration has urged the residents of Srinagar to maintain highest level of caution.
Reportedly, the main target area is Batmaloo, though sticky bombs can be used anywhere else also, but Batmaloo area is more prone to an attack.
Senior officials have been asked to brief all drivers, co-drivers and other vehicle-borne troops to be extra vigilant.
The security forces and residents have been asked not to travel to the Batmaloo area, if not necessary.
Meanwhile, two local ‘hybrid’ militants of the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were arrested with arms and ammunition in Srinagar city today morning.
‘Hybrid’ militants are those who are not listed as ultras but persons radicalised enough to carry out a terror strike and then slip back into the routine life.
“Srinagar Police arrested two local hybrid terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT/TRF. Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition, including 15 pistols, 30 magazines, 300 rounds and a silencer were recovered,” Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said on Twitter.
He said a case has been registered and an investigation was underway. “It is a big success for the police,” the IGP said.
