Five persons seriously injured with pellets in Kupwara, Thousands start march to ShopianFive persons including a woman Monday sustained pellet injuries after government forces fired at a procession raising anti-India and pro-freedom slogans in Dangerpora Kalaroos Lolab of Kupwara district.

An ambulance was also been damaged by the angry protesters in the area. Injured have been shifted to hospital amid a tense situation. Protests are going on in the Kashmir Valley since July 9, a day after militant commander, Burhan Wani was killed by government forces.

Thousands of people from different areas of district Shopian raising anti-India and pro-freedom slogans are on way to the district headquarter to protest against the latest civilian killings at the hands of government forces, reports said on Monday.

People of Wacchi area assembled on the road leading to Shopian and started their march, local sources said adding a long procession has reached Chittragam.

Meanwhile, protests are going on in Yaripora district of Kulgam on daily basis. People from Arwani, Frisal, Budroo, Kukargund, Katepora, Hangalbuch and Kanji Kulla daily hold rallies and processions.

Local sources said that people hold protest marches on Yaripora, Arwani road.

Sources said that police and security forces are limited to their camps and police stations while as marches and demonstrations are going on in almost every part of south Kashmir.

Protests and shutdown is going on in all parts of the Valley since July 9, a day after militant commander Burhan Wani was killed by government forces.
