Kashmiris won’t compromise birth rightThe Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi, has said that people of Kashmir will never compromise their right to self-determination, acknowledged by the world community through a number of resolutions passed by the United Nations.

Aasiya Andrabi while talking to media persons in Srinagar, today, maintained that Indian leaders would be living in fool’s paradise if they were thinking that they could break Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom through brutal tactics. Later, Indian police arrested Aasiya Andrabi to prevent her from visiting victim families in Handwara. She was detained at Rambagh Police Station along with party leader, Fehmeeda Sofi.

An anti-India protest demonstration organized by Islamic Political Party was held at press enclave in Srinagar against the unabated oppression of Indian forces in the territory, particularly in Kupwara district. The demonstration was led by Mohammad Yousuf Naqash.

Delegations of Sikh organizations and Salvation Movement headed by Zafar Akbar Butt visited Handwara and Kupwara and expressed solidarity with the families of civilians who were killed and injured in the firing of Indian Army personnel on peaceful protesters, recently. Kashmir Freedom Front Chairman, Syed Bashir Andrabi at a party meeting paid tributes to the martyrs.

Kashmiri leaders from across the Line of Control in their condolence meetings and statements expressed heartfelt condolence over the sad demise of the noted Kashmiri leader, Amanullah Khan who passed away in Rawalpindi, today. He was 82. The leaders remembered the selfless services of Amanullah Khan for the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement.

A declaration adopted during a seminar in Islamabad appealed to the world community to impress upon India to stop state terrorism in occupied Kashmir. The seminar on “Illegal detentions in occupied Kashmir – Indian mechanism to muzzle people’s voice and our responsibilities” was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League and was presided over by Kashmiri intellectual, Shaikh Tajammul-ul-Islam. Pakistan Muslim League-N Chairman Senator Raja Zafar-ul-Haq addressed the event as chief guest. A film depicting the detentions and atrocities committed by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir was also shown during the event.
