Restrictions in City todayAuthorities have decided to impose restrictions in several parts of the capital city on Friday.
The decision to impose restrictions on the areas falling under the jurisdiction of six police stations in the old city was taken on Thursday evening, apprehending protests by people at the behest of separatist leaders.
SSP Srinagar Amit Kumar told that restrictions will remain in place in the areas falling under five police stations in downtown Srinagar- Rainawari, Khanyar, Nowhatta, Safakadal and Maharaj Gunj- and Maisuma in the uptown.
He said the decision was made to foil protest march proposed by separatist leaders.
Meanwhile, all Kashmir University examinations scheduled to be held on October 23 (Friday) have been postponed. “Fresh dates for the deferred examinations shall be notified separately,” a university spokesperson said.
Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission has also decided to postpone all its examinations slated for Friday. Fresh dates in this regard shall be issued separately, according to Controller of Examination, PSC.
