The poor airtel data and cellular service in Mominabad, Batamaloo and several other areas in Srinagar has become a source of annoyance for the subscribers.
The subscribers in MominabadBatamaloo said that despite their pleas, the company has been taking them for a ride. “It is useless to have the Airtel SIM here. For last over a month, the service is totally down. Neither we are able to make a call nor can get the Net service on Airtel SIM,” said a subscriber.
Subscriber of 9797830197 said: “For every single call, I have to make three or four, because either there is call drop or I am unable to hear the voice of the other person.”
He said that now he has kept another number of Vodafone so that he is in a position to make calls.
Khalid Ahmad, subscriber of 9906415593 has the similar complaint. “We are paying handsome amount to the company on account of mobile bill, but in return we get extremely poor service.”
Irfan Ahmad of Batamaloo (phone no. 9906444263) said: “The network problem is a big problem in this area. The company has perhaps installed the substandard machinery which is unable to provide smooth connectivity.”
A subscriber of lane 1, Mominabad said: “For last about a month the data (internet) and cellular service is totally down in the area.”
He said: “When I took the issue with the company they send some officials led by an engineer, who assured me that the service will get right.”
He said: “When the services did not approve, I again contacted the engineer who assured that in one or two days the services will get better. But again there is no improvement in the service.”
“Now, when I am calling him, he is not even picking up the phone,” he said.
Meanwhile, the subscribers appealed the higher-ups of the company to look into the issue, or else “we will be forced to take legal recourse against the company.”
