Sports fraternity of Kashmir has stressed upon Government to utilize the services of the star players like Mehrajuddin Wadoo and others for the development of sports in the State.
The football governing body of the State, J&K Football Association (JKFA) has asked the Government to utilize services of the star players like Wadoo and Ishfaq Ahmad and others for the development of sports.
JKFA District President Fayaz Ahmad Sofi while talking to us said: “Players like Wadoo have played at highest level of football in India. He along with Ishfaq Ahmad are our two jewels who have made State proud for more than a decade. It is time now to take and utilize their services in our State by giving them suitable positions.”
“They have been at the helm of affairs at the highest level of football development programes. They have talent as well as experience. Government should utilize their services for the development of football in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
J&K Sports Development Association President, Bashir Ahmad Malik said that J&K is only state in entire Country where star players are not respected.
‘It may be the only State where International stars like Parvez Rasool, Mehrajuddin Wadoo or Ishfaq Ahmad have to beg for the jobs. In rest of the country respective Governments honor players with suitable positions after playing at International level,” Malik said.
“It is about honoring and motivating younger generations towards sports. It will send positive signal among the youth,” he added.
