Indiscipline Sparks Internal Turmoil in Sensitive Region
New Delhi 14 April 2025: A Firm Stand Against Anti-Party Activities
The Congress high command is reportedly gearing up to take strict disciplinary action against over a dozen party members from Jammu and Kashmir for engaging in activities deemed detrimental to the party’s interests. Among those targeted are self-styled district presidents and a senior leader suspected of backing dissenting voices.
Details of the Complaint
Sources within the party revealed that senior J&K Congress leaders submitted a detailed complaint to the central leadership, highlighting instances of anti-party behavior. The complaint accused certain members of openly challenging the authority of J&K Congress president Tariq Hamid Karra and AICC general secretary Ghulam Ahmed Mir.
“A list of all the individuals involved in anti-party behavior has already been compiled and submitted to the high command for necessary action,” a party insider disclosed.
Protests at AICC Headquarters
The move comes days after a group of Congress workers from Jammu and Kashmir staged a protest at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi. The protesters accused Karra and Mir of weakening the party in the region and demanded their removal from key positions.
Senior Congress leaders from J&K condemned the protest in a joint statement on April 7, describing it as an unprecedented act of indiscipline. They emphasized that such behavior damages the party’s image and mission in the sensitive region.
Leadership’s Response
Reacting to the incident, senior leaders called for swift and tough action to prevent the spread of indiscipline. “This kind of irresponsible act and anti-party activities malign the top leadership and seriously damage the party in J&K,” the statement read.
Looking Ahead
As the Congress high command prepares to act, the focus remains on restoring unity and safeguarding the party’s relevance in Jammu and Kashmir. The disciplinary measures are expected to send a clear message to members about the importance of loyalty and organizational discipline.
