VHP leader Leela Krishan Sharma had yesterday threatened “economic blockade to Kashmir region if the Jammu and Kashmir Speaker allows discussion on anti-beef ban bill” in the Legislative Assembly.
Reacting strongly to the statements of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), senior Hurriyat Conference (G) leader Shabir Ahmad Shah Saturday said that Kashmiris would not succumb to intimidations and would resist every anti-Kashmir move “tooth and nail”.
VHP leader Leela Krishan Sharma had yesterday threatened “economic blockade to Kashmir region if the Jammu and Kashmir Speaker allows discussion on anti-beef ban bill” in the Legislative Assembly.
“We will not make Halal Haram for ourselves at the diktats of these communal forces. If they (VHP) think they will make us succumb to their non-sense threats, they are living in fool’s paradise. This is sheer madness on their part,” Shah said in a statment here.
He said before “India occupied the territory of Jammu and Kashmir we used to trade through Jhelum Valley road.” “If they talk of blocking the supply, it makes no difference to us,” he said.
Over passing of the said bill in State Legislative Assembly, Shah said, “In 1862, the then Maharaja, in order to please a particular section of society, banned beef and since then some dynastic rulers didn’t even try to revoke the law just to be on chair and appease their masters in Delhi.”
