Geelani warns parents against sending children to army-run schools

Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, has warned parents not to send their children to Army-run schools.
Expressing apprehension over the reports of “mischievous activities”carried out by educational institutions run by the forces, Geelani said that teachers are making children “indifferent towards their religion and specific culture.”
Taking serious note of this, Geelani warned parents to avoid these institutions. “For petty material gains, we are losing our next generation,” said Geelani. He asked parents to “be watchful and careful about their future.”
“ We should never send our youth to these institutions as we need to see what education these institutions are imparting to our children. For the betterment of our youngsters, instead do seek admission in other institutions of your choice, run by prominent and well-known organization,”said Geelani.
Geelani expressed “apprehension” over the education imparted by Army-administered institutions.
He asked people not to make Army the “ custodian of our future generations.” “They are killing, maiming and blinding us and how obsolete and obscure it is to trust these and handover our future into their custody.”
“It is quite contradictory and there is no moral justification for this,’’ said Geelani. He said that “unprecedented brutalities” are inflicted on our nation. “ How can they (Army) take care and provide good education to our children as they are following particular mindset?’’ he asked.
He said that the Army-run schools prepare “our new generation to accomplish their nefarious designs.’’
“ These institutions will definitely influence their way of thinking. Those Children pursuing education in these institutions are immature and as such unintentionally deviating from their roots,’’said Geelani.
“Islam and its fundamentals are dear to us and It is all against the teachings of Islam and cherished ethics we are following,” added Geelani.
“These schools are following syllabus influenced by fanatical dogma,’’ he said.
Syed Ali Geelani strongly condemned the “interference” by the Army in the educational institutions under the “Sadbhavana” operation. He said, “ the non-schooling activities adversely impact the education career of the students and frequent visit of the Army in the educational institutions have bad psychological effect on the students.’’
“The students are the prime target and their moral degradation is one of the tools to spread waywardness. The forces are the prime source of liquor and drug supply,” Geelani said.
“We have best education system in our state and experts are imparting standard education to students, as such parents are requested to disassociate from these fanatical institutions.’’
He asked parents to avoid these institutions and take “proper decision about their children and seek admission in local schools.”
Geelani said that Indian authorities are following the British policy of education so that “young generations are influenced as per their choice.”
It is unfortunate, said Geelani, while referring to “indifferent approach of people towards the future of their wards. We are handing over our young generation to these forces. It is unacceptable and unjustified.’’
