Massive clashes erupt near encounter site in Pulwama, Youth hit by bullet scores suffered pellet injuries

Massive clashes erupted as an encounter raged in Hakripora village of Pulwama in south Kashmir on Tuesday.
Reports said that people from all the surrounding villages are marching towards Hakripora where a militant, reportedly identified as Arif Lelhari, has been killed in an ongoing gunfight.

They said that forces used teargas shells to disperse the protesters who were pelting them with stones.
The gunfight broke out earlier today after forces launched a cordon and search operation following inputs about the presence of militants in Hakripora.

Meanhile, a youth was hit by a bullet near the site of a gunfight in Hakripora village of Pulwama district of south Kashmir on Tuesday. Several other protesters have also been injured
Reports said that people from all the surrounding villages of Pahoo, Kakapora and Newa marched towards Hakripora where a gunfight started early morning.

Government forces deployed in the area used live ammunition, pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters who pelted them with stones.
A civilian, identified as Jehanagir Ahmad of Kakapora, was hit by bullet in his abdomen. He was shifted to SMHS hospital for specialized treatment. His condition is stated to be critical.
Several others have suffered pellet injuries, reports said.
