Protests outside UNMOGIP office Srinagar, Massive clashes in BandiporaScores of people after Friday prayers tried to submit a resolution to the United Nations Military Observer’s office at Srinagar near Gupkar road however the men in uniform used tear smoke shells to disperse them. Soon after people came out of the Syed Sahab Mosque, they assembled outside the gate of UNMOGIP, and started raising slogans seeking interference of United Nations to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

The protesters wanted to talk to the UNMOGIP officials and handover a memmorandumto them regarding Kashmir however police swung into action and fired tear smoke shells on the protesters.

The protesters pelted stones on police and forces however police sources said “the situation is under control”. This was after a very long that Kashmiri people managed to reach upto the office of UNMOGIP to submit a resolution regarding Kashmir.

Massive clashes erupted between youth and forces on Friday in various aeras of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. As soon as Friday prayers culminated at district’s Jamia Masjid, many youth assembled and marched towards Martyrs’ graveyard situated at Nasoo.

The clashes erupted in Papchan, Ajar and Gamroo areas of Bandipora between forces and youth.
Police and paramilitary forces, who were deployed there, resorted to heavy tear-smoke shelling.
The protesters were chanting anti-India, pro-freedom slogans and slogans eulogising Burhan Wani, slain Hizb commander who was killed by forces on July 8.
