A group of 30 girls who are on a tour organised by the Army, on Tuesday visited Rashtrapati Bhawan and met President Pranab Mukherjee, who extended his warm greetings and blessing to them.
A Defence spokesman said Snober Khan, a participant student, also presented a memento to the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces on behalf of the Chinar Corps. Earlier in the day, the young girls had the opportunity of having a conducted tour of Parliament where they even attended a Lok Sabha session for some time.
Interacting with the children, Member Parliament Poonamben Hematbhai Maadam exhorted them to relentlessly pursue their dreams and strive for excellence in every sphere. She also complimented the Army for such an initiative which was bound to open avenues for the children.
The spokesman said the students were also enthralled with their visit to the National Museum in Delhi which is a repository of the country’s historical and cultural heritage.
“The section of Mughal Era’s jewellery was understandably the major attraction for these young souls, which fully reflected in their sparking eyes. Captivated by the experience so far, the girls are confident that this tour would be a life changer for them,” he said.
