Kashmiris being made economically weak under planThe Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi, has said that conspiracies are being hatched by Hindu extremist organization, Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh to weaken Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir economically and culturally.

Aasiya Andrabi in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that the Kashmiris who were original residents of the territory were being treated as second class citizens. She said that they were being robbed of their resources to make them fully dependent on India.

Senior Hurriyet leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar, today criticized the Indian authorities’ brutal attitude towards Palhallan people. He said that the area was being targeted for its unflinching commitment to the freedom movement.

The High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir in a statement in Srinagar condemned the ruthless beating and torturing of the Kashmiri detainees lodged in Udhampur jail by the jail authorities. It pointed out that anyone who beats or tortures a prisoner is guilty of a criminal offence.

Indian army-backed so-called Village Defence Committee member martyred a 26-year-old civilian, Ishtyaq Ahmad, at Potha in Kalakote area of Rajouri district. Police said that locals apprehended the culprit, Kewal Sharma, and handed him over to the police. The locals held a protest in the area and blocked the Rajouri-Poonch highway demanding action against the culprit.

The veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani in his statement issued in Srinagar, today, reacting to the killing said that besides army and paramilitary forces, India has deployed an official terrorist force in the name of Village Defense Committee in the territory. This terrorist force, he added, is being directly controlled by Indian Home Ministry from New Delhi.

The member of so-called Kashmir Assembly, Engineer Abdur Rasheed condemning the brutal murder of the civilian demanded immediate disbanding of the committees. He said that the incident had proved beyond doubt that the Hindu terrorists had been given a free hand in Jammu region to carry out attacks on Muslims.

APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq visited fire-hit Nawa Kadal area of Srinagar and expressed sympathies with the victims. Four residential houses were gutted in a devastating fire, rendering around 100 people homeless.
