Mercury dips as rain lashes Kashmir ValleyThe day temperature in Kashmir valley registered a decrease on Wednesday as moderate rainfall lashed the city.

The city recorded a maximum of 14.5 degree Celsius, a drop of nearly 13 degrees from yesterday. The summer capital had registered a maximum of 27.4 degree Celsius on Tuesday. The mercury plunged after several hours of rain, which began early morning and continued intermittently through the day.

The city received 6.2 mm rain during the day, the state Meteorological Department said. It has predicted isolated and scattered rain in the Kashmir region for Friday and Saturday.
