Expressing concern over the house detention and arrests of pro-freedom leaders, separatist organization Jammu Kashmir Mass Movement Friday alleged that RSS backed Government of India has been intentionally offending the religious sentiments of Muslim in the State.
Addressing a press conference at her Natipora residence, Mass Movement Chairperson Fareeda Behanji said that state government has been muzzling the voice of the pro-freedom people in Kashmir. She expressed anguish over the killing spree by some “unidentified gunmen “just after the statement of Indian Defense Minister Manahar Parikar.
She condemned the re-arrest of DeM Chairperson Aasiya Andrabi and continuous detention of Masrat Aalam and Dr Qasim Faktoo. Demanding the immediate release of political prisoner, Fareeda Behanji said that interference in the religious affairs of the majority community by PDP-BJP led coalition government has become the order of the day.
She appealed all the separatist organizations to join Geelani led Hurriyat Conference. “For the well-being of the Kashmiri people and for the effective implantation of UN resolutions, all the separatist outfits should join Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani,” she said. (CNS)
