The much-hyped Makhdoom Sahib (RA) ropeway in Shaher-e-Khaas here is grounded for past nearly three months due to major technical snag caused by breakdown of ‘inferior and defective components.’ Constructed at a cost of around Rs 8 crore, the 550 metre ropeway was built by Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC) through Kolkatta-based Ropeway and Resorts Pvt Ltd. Boulevard Road to go four lane

In a bid to provide better road communication facilities to tourists, the Jammu and Kashmir government has initiated process of widening the famed Boulevard Road along the Dal Lake here. The government has approved the project of four laning the road from Nehru Park to Kral Sangri with an estimated cost of Rs 33 crore. Jammu and Kashmir’s first Disaster Management Plan reveals that Kashmir may witness more spells of extreme rainfall, with southern districts of the Valley being more vulnerable to floods.
