JKTDC to organize food festivals across India
Secretary Tourism Farooq A Shah said J&K state is diverse and rich in its culture and cuisine which has international appeal.
He said Kashmir’s rich cuisine has international appeal and to further promote it JKTDC would organize food festivals across India.
He was giving details of recently organised food festival during Bharat Parvah organised by Ministry of Tourism GoI on the back ramp pads of reds fort during the republic day which saw the participation of all the states of India including the hotel management institutes from all over the country.
This is one of the effective platforms to showcase the rich and diverse cuisine and culture of different states.
Secretary tourism termed the food festivals as important and effective medium to promote Kashmir’s rich cuisine and of the other parts of the state.
“Our culture and especially cuisine has international appeal as people across the globe explore and indulge in new culinary delights.”
Manager JKTDC food court CB Koul said all visitors and participants liked Kashmiri cuisine and appreciated it which is an encouraging sign.
JKTDC has food stall in Delhi’s famous craft bazaar Dilli Haat opposite INA market and has food outlets across the State as well which are run professionally. Expert chefs in Kashmiri cuisine are preparing food is served at JKTDC properties.
Secretary tourism also informed that the JKTDC will organise food festivals across the country to promote the rich cuisine and culture of the state.
“This will in turn promote the destinations of J&K in the country and across the globe.”
