Intense clashes erupted in Nasrullah Pora village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday after protesters attempted to march towards a polling station.
The protesters were marching towards Tankipora where polling stations were shifted last night when clashes erupted.
Witnesses said that forces resorted to teargas and pepper gas shelling besides pellet firing to disperse the protesters, triggering intense clashes.
Health sources confirmed that one youth was hit by pellets.
They said that the youth, whose identity was not immediately known, was shifted to District Hospital Budgam. However, he was discharged as the injuries were not grave.
Youth clash with forces in Beerwah as polling ends
Meanwhile, clashes erupted in Beerwah town of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday after government forces started withdrawing at the end of re-poll.
Witnesses said that youth hurled stones on the withdrawing forces, triggering clashes.
