Irshad Ahmad, the manager of a prominent hotel in Pahalgam, highlights the rise in tourists from southern India and non-resident Indians (NRIs), signifying a positive trend. He emphasizes the need for government efforts to transform Pahalgam into a year-round tourist attraction and improve infrastructure.

With the success of the Gondola cable car lift in Gulmarg, the Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation is exploring the possibility of introducing a similar feature in Pahalgam. In 2022, Pahalgam welcomed approximately 7.89 lakh tourists, with over 2.60 lakh being local visitors from Jammu and Kashmir.
