Nearly 10 days after reports that al-Qaeda’s recently announced Kashmir unit chief Zakir Musa was trapped by security forces in Pulwama’s Tral area, the Burhan Wani successor is back in action.
In a detailed statement, surfaced on Saturday, Musa-led Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, a unit of al-Qaeda, has openly threatened Indian authorities, vowing to “take jihad to the last corner” of the country and by listing its targets.
Al-Hurr, the propaganda arm of the newly formed terror group, posted the three-page statement on social media, which was accessed and put forth by SITE Intelligence Group, a US-based monitoring firm.
“We will take this jihad to the last corner of India and, this…will be the source of victory of Islam in Kashmir and India…We invite all the Muslims of Kashmir and the world for jihad against India and hope that they will strengthen this jihad with their lives and money,” the statement read.
The group asserted that it was “clear in its goals” and would target “Indian Army, police and every such person who is overtly or covertly involved in oppression against Muslims of Kashmir and India”.
Since then, the former Hizb-ul Mujahideen commander is reportedly high on the hit list of the Indian security establishment.
