Two more youth have suffered bullet injuries in the ongoing clashes at the encounter site in Brienty Dialgam. Sources in District Hospital Anantnag told Kashmir Post that around 15 people with different firearm injuries have been treated since morning in the hospital.
Meanwhile, local sources told Kashmir Post the intense clashes are going on near the encounter site as more and more people are converging at the encounter site.
So far, a 40-year-old lady was killed in the ongoing clashes between stone pelting youth and government forces.
The residents of Brethi Dialgam village of Anantnag district in south Kashmir on Saturday alleged the government forces of using civilians as human shield during a gunfight with militants.
Several residents who were accompanying the injured at District Hospital Anantnag said that forces were using civilians as human shields.
“They (forces) were not even letting women from a house where militants were trapped to come out,” alleged the residents.
However, police has accused the militants of using some civilians as hostage.
“Some militants are still holed-up in the house. Efforts are ongoing to take out the civilians,” said a spokesman.
Authorities have snapped the mobile internet in district Anantnag while curfew-like-restrictions have been imposed around the Dialgam area.
An encounter between militants and government forces is underway in Brienty area of the district which started in wee hours of Saturday morning.
