Joint Resistance called for Kashmir bandh on Friday against recent killings

Joint resistance leadership led by an Octogenarian separatist leader and Hurriyat (G) chief, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, JKLF chairman Yasin Malik and APHC chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have called for a complete bandh in Kashmir Valley against the killing of a student by forces in Shopian.

The shutdown has been called to express people’s resentment and indignation against the brutal killing of young Adil Ahmed Magray of Ganowpora, Shopian by the security forces and to express complete solidarity with the bereaved family, joint resistance camp said in a statement.

“Complete strike will be observed on Friday across the valley and peaceful protest will be held across the valley against the killing after Friday prayers,” the statement said.

The separatist leadership has asked the people from all over south to march towards the residence of Adil to express solidarity with the bereaved family.

Terming the recent NIA raids on pro-freedom activists and traders illegal, the resistance leadership said, raids were aimed to intimidate, defame leadership, freedom movement and to damage the state economy. “It will also be denounced and protested by people,” the statement said.

Joint resistance leadership also condemned the use of force by the forces against students protesting the killing of their fellow student Adil Ahmed in various parts of the valley especially in IUST Awantipora “ “They cannot stop the youth from raising its voice against repression and for their political aspirations,” the resistance leadership said.
