The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has termed the RSS statement, advising the Indian government to suppress the ongoing movement in Jammu Kashmir with iron hand, as ridiculous.
The JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “It seems that RSS has lost all its wisdom because of its hawkish mindset. Since 1947, India has applied its policy of oppression in Jammu Kashmir. Besides killing lakhs of people, its forces subjected tens of thousands to the worst kind of torture in jails, interrogation centres and camps.”From 1988 to 2015, he added, over one lakh Kashmiris have been martyred who have been buried in more than 500 graveyards across Jammu and Kashmir. “However, these acts of oppression and suppression could not defeat the passion of Kashmiri people for freedom,” he said, adding that “RSS and Indian rulers must bear in mind that intimidations, threats, killings and other oppressive measures can never suppress the resistance movement.”
“One cannot find a single Kashmiri who has not suffered torture, beatings and incarceration at the hands of forces. Over 10,000 Kashmiris are missing in custody and thousands buried in unmarked graves,” he maintained.
“From 2008 to 2010, hundreds of innocent youth were butchered by forces and thousands tortured in jails. Even today all peaceful political activities are banned and thousands continue to remain in jails, police stations and interrogation centers,” Malik added.
But all these oppressive acts neither succeeded in defeating our passion for freedom in past nor will they do so in future,” Yasin Malik said.
