Expressing shock over the Pattan incident in which three bullet ridden bodies of young boys with torture marks was found in mysterious circumstances in an apple orchard at Seeru Dangarpora in North Kashmir’s Pattan town, the Hurrriyat (M) strongly condemned the killings and said that the gruesome incident raises suspicion and needs to be investigated and the culprits brought to book. The Hurriyat (M) expressed solidarity and sympathy with all the three bereaved families.
According to a statement issued to KNS, meanwhile paying tributes to slain militant Irshad Ahmad Ganaie of Padgampora Pulwama, Hurriyat Conference (M) termed his “sacrifice as the priceless asset of freedom struggle”.
The conglomerate stated, “Kashmiris are offering sacrifices of their lives and property from decades onwards. The best tribute to the martyrs would be to show complete commitment and resolve towards the freedom struggle to take their mission forward to the logical conclusion.”
Hurriyat (M) statement said, “the delaying tactics would no way force the Kashmiris to retreat from their legitimate struggle besides if the Kashmir issue remains unresolved, nobody could guarantee whether the peace and stability would prevail in the region.”
The statement further condemned the use of force on mourners who took part in the funeral procession of the rebel commander.
The statement denounced the use of force and arrests of students at Kashmir University who peacefully expressed their political sentiments. It stated that it was highly unfortunate and condemnable that Kashmir university, instead become a seat of highest learning, has become a seat of “promoting political propaganda of the state”. “Such events taking part in the university have questioned the credibility of university. Besides it has harmed the sacredness of the highest learning institutions.”
