Hurriyet leaders have condemned the highhandedness and reign of terror unleashed by Indian police against people of Khadwani, Kulgam and Pulwama areas of south Kashmir.
The leaders including Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Zafar Akbar Butt, Maulana Abdullah Tari, Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo and others in their separate statements asserted that the resistance leadership could not maintain silence over the atrocities being inflicted upon the people.
They condemned the highhandedness of police in Khudwani and Pulwama and said that police were unnecessarily harassing and arresting youth. Police have waged an undeclared war against innocent youth.
They demanded immediate release of detained youth and condemned the brute action of police against civilians. They said that any immoral activities against womenfolk were unbearable and stern action should be taken against the culprit.
Other Hurriyet leaders including Maulvi Bashir Ahmad, Farida Behanji, Zamrooda Habib, Muhammad Shafi Reshi and Muhammad Ramazan Khan in their statements said that Kashmir was an international dispute, and India could not lessen its importance through different tactics.
Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Movement, Muslim Khawateen Markaz andJammu and Kashmir Muslim League in their statements denounced the illegal detention of Syed Bashir Andrabi, Asadullah Paray, Muhammad Ayyub, Muhammad Yousuf Falahi, Ahmad Yattu, Nazir Ahmad Mattu, and Zubair Ahmad. The organizations also denounced arrests of youth in Pulwama, Pattan and other areas of the territory.
