The number of vehicle in Kashmir division has increased during last 15 years by 26 per cent. According to the official data there is an increase of 26.25 percent in vehicle registrations from 2004 to 2017 in Kashmir. From the year 1971 to 31 March 2004 there were 154227 vehicles registered in regional transport office (RTO), Kashmir and the registrations have increased to 587697 vehicles as of 2016-2017.
