Kashmir to Chenab Valley, Shutdown observed against civilian killings

Life in Kashmir and parts of Chenab Valley was paralysed Monday due to shutdown called by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) over the killings of civilians in a blast near encounter site in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The authorities imposed tough restrictions in parts of Kulgam town to prevent youth from taking to roads and staging protests against the killing of civilians. Clashes near encounter site in Pulwama 15 Year old boy killed, Train service suspended

Clashes erupted near the site of an encounter between militants and government forces in Padgampora village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday. Youth took to streets and clashed with forces to disrupt the anti-militant operation. Meanwhile, reports said that the family of Lashkar-e-Toiba militant Shafi Shergujri of Banderpora has been brought near the encounter site to persuade him to surrender.
