Complete shutdown was observed on Sunday in Diver, Dardpora, Lalpora and Sogam areas of Lolab against the killing of three Lashker-e Toiba militants in an encounter with army on Saturday at Dardpora village. A teenage boy died and two others were injured after an avalanche struck the forest area of Machhil in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday morning. A police officer told Srinagar based news agency GNS that the avalanche hit the Chuntiwari Balla area of Machhil in the frontier district, resulting in on-spot death of a 15-year-old boy. ‘231 students, 17 minors among 634 arrested for ‘stone-pelting’ in 2015’

Police have arrested at least 231 students and 17 minors on charges of stone-pelting in 2015, official documents have revealed.
