Chenani – Nashri tunnel opens to weeklong trial run

The country’s longest 9.25-km road tunnel was thrown open for vehicles on a trial basis this evening. At the Nashri end of the tunnel, Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz flagged off the Jammu-bound vehicles, while Ashutosh Chandwar, Regional Head, Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS), flagged off the Srinagar-bound vehicles on the Chenani end in the presence of the engineers and managers of the IL&FS, NH-1A and other ancillary concerns.
