Education Minister, Naeem Akhtar inspected several educational institutions in district Anantnag during his extensive tour yesterday.
The Minister was accompanied by Farooq Andrabi, MLA Devsar, DDC Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Khan; Director, School Education Kashmir, Showkat Ahmad Beig, CEO Anantnag and officers of R&B and PDD.
While inspecting GHSS Hakura, the Minister ordered establishment of Smart Classrooms and evening classes. He also directed for immediate development of cluster system in the institution under Model School concept so that constant vigil is kept on educational institutions coming under the purview of cluster Hakura.
While inspected Government Degree College Dooru, the Minister chaired an interactive session with teachers and students regarding the new initiatives in the education sector.
The Minister said that blanket ban has been imposed on mid-term transfer of teachers so that academic setup is not disturbed and syllabus is completed well in time.
Akhtar announced two new streams of BCA and Commerce will be started in GDC Dooru in evening shifts from next session. He also directed for necessary earth cutting from hillside in the College premises to avert any life threat to teaching and student community.
The Minister also visited GHSS Dooru and ordered for providing additional classrooms to the institution.
The Minister also interacted with the civil society members of Dooru-Shahabad, besides Beopar Mandal representatives.
The Minister also took a detailed review of the education scenario in the district while chairing the meeting of concerned officers at Verinag. He urged the officers to focus on the development of academics in the schools by inspecting and providing academic support constantly.
