Three policemen, a paramilitary CRPF trooper and a civilian were injured in a grenade blast at Khanyar in Old City of Srinagar district on Wednesday evening.
Official sources told GNS that at around 8:33 pm, militants lobbed a grenade towards a naka party near Khanyar Police station resulting in injuries to three policemen, one of them an ASI, a CRPF trooper and a pedestrian.
This is the first grenade attack in Downtown after about ten months. Last time such incident occurred during campaigning last year’s assembly election.
Meanwhile, police and CRPF launched searches in the whole area to trace the grenade thrower. So far no one has been arrested when this report was filed. (GNS)
