Labourers Depart Kashmir for Winter, Dispelling Forced Eviction Myths
The outsider Labourers on Tuesday said they are leaving the valley as the harsh winter approaches, clarifying that their departure is not due to any forced evictions. Scores of Outside labourers said that no one is being driven out of Kashmir, and it is vital to present the situation accurately.
Sajid Khan an outside labourer urged both the public and media professionals not to spread misinformation about the situation. “People are leaving due to the natural shift in seasons, not because of any pressure . It’s important that media does not portray Kashmir in a negative light,” he said.
As winter sets in, many labourers typically move to warmer states for work, a long-standing tradition in Kashmir, Khan said. His message aims to dispel rumors about forced migrations, stressing that such false narratives harm the image of the valley and its people.
They called on the media to act responsibly and ensure that the public receives accurate information, highlighting that sensationalist reports only create unnecessary fear and confusion among the masses.
