Respect sentiments to prevent lynching incidents: RSS leader Indresh Kumar

After stoking controversy over his statement on mob lynching in the name of protecting cow, Indresh Kumar senior RSS leader on Wednesday stated that respecting sentiments would solve this (lynching) problem.
He condemned the recent violent incidents in different parts of the country by cow vigilantes, while also stating that hurting sentiments of any section of society was also violence, which deserved similar condemnation.
Indirectly demanding a ban on beef, the RSS leader said, “Some groups in the country are deliberately hurting the sentiments of people and they are equally responsible for encouraging and instigating people to indulge in violence in the name of protecting cow.”
“No religion allows cow slaughter, but some forces are deliberately raking up controversies to hurt sentiments of others despite the fact that eating beef is not good for health,” he said, maintaining, “Such statements ultimately lead to violence.”
Kumar was interacting with mediapersons during a function organised by the Forum for Awareness of National Security in connection with Kargil Vijay Diwas in Jammu.
“The day we start respecting each others’ sentiments, such violence, by individuals or by mob, will stop,” he said. The RSS leader also regretted that politicians were giving provocative statements, which was instigating people.
On Monday, Kumar had stated that no religion allows slaughtering of cow and crimes like mob lynching would stop if the killing of the bovine stops.
He said dumping the PDP was a well-thought and mature decision of the high command.
