Two Kashmiri students will represent India at the World Kick-boxing Championship, which will be held in November at Buenos Aires in Argentina.
The participants, Aabid Hamid and Hashim Ashraf, are students of Army Goodwill School, Hanzik, and have been selected to represent India at the championship, the Army said in a statement. The championship will be held in Argentina from November 5 to 10.
The Army in its statement said the two students had “consistently performed in martial arts competitions at the school, district, state, national and international levels in 2017”.
“Acknowledging their specific achievements in kick-boxing and based on their performances in the National Games held at Patna in 2017, the students have been selected for this prestigious tournament,” the Army said.
The Army said the performance of Aabid and Hashim would serve as “a motivation for other students and will help in bringing more glory and success for the school in the times to come”.
