Hindu Ekta Manch slams Mehbooba Mufti for ‘Influencing’ Asifa probe

The Hindu Ekta Manch (HEM) Thursday rejected the investigation of Crime Branch into the rape and murder case of minor girl Asifa and demanded that Central Bureau of Investigation should hold a probe in the case.
The demand was raised here during a press conference addressed by the Manch president Vijay Sharma. “We don’t trust the investigation of Crime Branch of J&K Police. We have apprehensions. The Government should handover the investigation of Asifa’s case to CBI,” said Sharma.
Sharma said that “they have lost faith in Crime Branch while clarifying that they are not supporting the accused persons who were involved in the heinous crime but want that innocent people should not be framed.”
Meanwhile, International Democratic Platform (IDP) Thursday appealed Crime Branch to make public its investigation that lead to the arrest of two SPOs. The demand was raised during the seminar organized by the IDP under the leadership of its patron I D Khajuria where people from other organizations like Woman’s Right Group (Mahila Adhikar Sangathan), Samajik Insaaf Manch, JK Forum for Peace and Territorial Integrity, and Kissan Andolan also participated.
“The Crime Branch should hold a press conference to convey the complete story of arrests to establish trust in the investigation and remove the doubts of the people,” said Khajuria, while speaking during the seminar at Chadwal Morh in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district.
He said that “If there is any dissatisfaction then people will be compelled to demand another enquiry even from the judge of Jammu and Kashmir Court or CBI.”
While criticizing those “communalizing the situation”, Khajuria said, “Communal moves and double speak was the main propaganda after this heinous crime which was shocking aspect for a rational human.”
The speakers in the seminar including Santosh Khajuria, president, Mahila Adhikar Sangathan, B L Kandley, Kali Dass unanimously resolved that “nobody should tolerate the communal moves and should uphold the approach of peace and inter-dependence to defeat the mindset of confrontation and hate.”
The Hindu Ekta Manch earlier took out a protest rally in support SPOs Deepak Khajuria, and Surinder Verma. They said that their community members were “unnecessarily harassed and arrested,” while the Crime Branch ADGP, Alok Puri, asserted that their investigation will not deter with “such protests indicating that more arrests are likely.”
A meeting was organized at Parshu Ram temple in Hiranagar (Kathua) where some of the speakers appealed to boycott the Gujjars and avoid buying milk products and live stocks from them. “We condemn the defamatory campaign by a communally motivated segment of the so- called mainstream political parties and the entire Muslim separatist leadership in the state against Hindu Ekta Manch which has been spearheading the movement for an impartial inquiry into the tragic murder of a minor girl Asifa Bano in Hiranagar,” added Sharma.
He said that the way whole incident was handled by the state Government at the highest level and segments of mainstream political parties “clearly shows an inclination to communalizing a murder that the campaigners have already come to the conclusion about who is culprit or who is to be made as a culprit.”
“For us, it is appalling and suffocating that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has become a willing tool in this campaign. Is not it true that forensic report conducted on the murder is yet to come to any conclusion? Is not it true that still there is an authentic conformation where rape had been committed on the minor girl before she died?”
“How come Chief Minister issued a tweet before an inquiry giving a clear verdict that deceased minor was raped and the arrested persons were the rapists.”
“Is CM acting in a sectarian manner in a situation where jihad has extended tentacles into Jammu province in a big way? It raises many serious questions. Has Jammu to be destabilized though a communal polarization spearheaded by the leaders of political class acting as over ground workers of jihadi separation and terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir?”
Hindu Ekta Manch has voiced its concern that entire Jammu region including the areas of Kathua and Hiragana are being subjected to a ferocious “demographic invasion abetted by the elements in the government.”
“The land and its forests have already been handed over to the people belonging to one community so that demographic character of Jammu is changed fast so that jihad succeeds in Jammu as well,” said Sharma.
