Maiden Sangh Parivar conclave in Valley

A ‘Samanvay Baithak’ of the Sangh Parivar was held in Srinagar today amid allegations of Kashmir-centric parties that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was setting its foot in the Valley.
It’s the first time that such a meeting of the Sangh Parivar has been organised in the Valley to devise a strategy for expanding base in Kashmir province.
The leadership of the Sangh Parivar has deliberately made it a low-key affair due to threats to its Valley-based leaders. The meeting is significant in a way that the RSS has spread it wings in Kashmir by roping in local activists.
The RSS has especially deputed Mukund Lal, one of its top leaders and the Akhil Bharatiya Sah Bodhik Pramukh, to participate in the meeting to explore the possibilities of expanding work in the Valley.
Representatives of over 10 organisations affiliated to the RSS attended the meeting and gave suggestions to make inroads into the Valley.
Ramesh Pappa, prant prachark, represented the J&K RSS and Narinder Singh was BJP’s nominee.
“During the two-hour meeting, Sangh Parivar leaders reviewed the functioning of the PDP-BJP government in the state,” a participant of the meeting. He said participants opined that it was the appropriate time to strengthen base in the Valley.
