Students refuse to stand, click selfie during National Anthem at BGSB University Rajouri

In yet another shocking incident from Jammu and Kashmir, some of the students at the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGBSU) in Rajouri refused to stand during the National Anthem.

The incident took place during a valedictory function of the Silver Rolling Trophy. Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, SSP Rajouri and Vice-Chancellor of the University were among dignitaries present on the occasion.

What is shocking is that instead of showing respect to the National Anthem, two students were seen clicking a selfie.
The incident has angered other students and locals. An action against “guilty” students is being demanded.
Notably, China’s Parliament is mulling jail terms of up to three years for people who disrespect the national anthem or flag in public.

An FIR has been registered against two students of Badshah University in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district for allegedly disrespecting the national anthem

The two students did not stand up when the National Anthem was being sung at a function at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University on Wednesday where Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra was the chief guest, District Magistrate Shahid Iqbal Choudhary told PTI.

“We have taken cognisance of the incident of disrespect of the National Anthem by two students of Badshah University yesterday”, he said.

“Disciplinary action will follow. Law will take its own course”, he said and added that a report has been sought from university authorities.
