US President Donald Trump’s advisor and daughter Ivanka Trump has become the first foreign woman leader to get the unparalleled hype, publicity and security cover in Hyderabad. Ivanka landed in the city early on Tuesday morning and reached her hotel at Madhapur in a convoy of 34 vehicles.
The police held up road traffic from the airport in Shamshabad to Madhapur to enable Ivanka’s convoy a free passage. The convoy included an ambulance, which normally accompanies the President, the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister.
Ivanka was also provided with the tightest security cover accorded to a foreign woman, who is not the head of a state or government, in the recallable history of the city.T he only other time after Independence a woman leader of a foreign country received such a rousing welcome in Hyderabad was in February 1992 when Princess Diana toured the city.
Incidentally, Ivanka is the only woman leader not related to the British royalty to receive wide publicity and a security cover, meticulously chalked out at the highest level.
Queen Elizabeth was in Hyderabad in November 1983 but she visited the city in her capacity as the Queen of the United Kingdom. The Queen got the grand reception mandated for the head of a state.
