Cars, Bikes banned for students below 18 yrs

Taking note of the alleged violation of traffic rules by the students of educational institutions (both government and private) who come to the schools on two-wheelers and four -wheelers without a driving licence, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) has directed all the principals/Zonal Education Officers/head masters of the Jammu district not to allow any student below 18 years of age to cometo the institution on any type of vehicle.
The order further said the driving licence of students who are 18-year-old or above 18 years should be checked before allowing them to use any type of vehicle to attend the school.
“Students with a valid driving licence may be directed to park their vehicle in a separate parking place designated by the head of the institution concerned,” the order said.
Talking to Kashmir Post, Jammu CEO Rampal Bal said: “The decision was taken at a meeting on May 20 which was chaired by Jammu Deputy Commissioner. It was attended by SSP Traffic and other senior officers.” He added that the order would imply not only to government schools but private schools as well.
